So back in September of 2022 I bought one of the ZAFRO 45 Pints Dehumidifier and it worked so well and was so quiet that I bought a second one for another part of the house. We live in Georgia and there was plenty of humidity and I had to empty them every day or every other day and they continued to work well for 9 months and one of them still working as it should.In May we went on vacation so I shut both units off and unplugged them because we were going to be gone 22 days and I do not have a place where I can have them set to continuous drain. We get back after 22 days settle back in plug both units back in and start working just like they were and about a week goes by and I see water on the floor didn’t pay much attention figured I had spilled some water on the floor when I drained it. Now mind you I drain these pretty much every morning automatically because they were usually three quarters full and were not going to go another full day. So another week goes by happens again but this time when I pulled the bucket I noticed the red light didn’t come on and the unit didn’t shut off so I emailed support asking for a parts breakdown or troubleshooting guide.Really didn’t get a great answer and I’m not sure if it’s a language barrier or something else but we both kept working at it and then they asked for a video which I sent and got a reply that they were forwarding to engineering.Their response I wasn’t really pleased with as the suggestion was to put it in continuous drain. Unfortunately, I cannot do that in this house in either location that I have them placed. They think either a magnetic switch or the board is at fault, and I was disappointed that their answer was basically I can’t fix it and no parts are available to fix. I was a computer tech for years and a heavy equipment for way longer and I know how to read a schematic and trouble shoot electronics but the statement of no parts available to replace was discouraging. They are getting the 5 stars because they were good enough to refund me on the unit but I’m basically on my own from here.The last thing I’m going to say is this world has become a throw away for electronic devices I lost my computer tech job years ago because it became cheaper to replace than repair and it isn’t any better with these. The unit still works great I just have to be aware it’s not shutting off when bucket full anymore and it’s really kind of sad because the unit works well and is quiet. The worst part in these devices is they all have the same principal none of these can you get parts for even the more expensive ones like I have now that is twice as loud. So, the only way to protect yourself is to buy a unit with warranty or purchase a separate warranty and then you will probably have to fight with the warranty company when the time comes. Hope this helps educate people.
