Features

Dehumidifiers heat to a surface temperature of around 100-120 degrees F. The heat creates a natural convection that slowly circulates warm, dry air throughout an enclosure on a 24 hour basis.

This increases the temperature of the air inside to several degrees above the ambient outside temperature. Expansion of the heated air forces the moist air outside through the small cracks on safe doors leaving the dry air inside. It is best utilized when mounting horizontally at the bottom of the safe to work effectively.

The safe dehumidifier rod can be mounted against a wall as well. Lowering the humidity is a slow process. If you do not see the reduction of humidity after a couple of weeks then you may want to consider a longer unit or our PEET dehumidifier.

In order to plug in this electrical DRY ROD DEHUMIDIFIER inside your safe, we recommend purchasing the ELECTRICAL OUTLET KIT. The ELECTRICAL OUTLET KIT comes standard on all Franklin safes and higher. If you own or purchasing a Revolution, Revere, Colonial or FATBOY Jr. safe, the Electrical Outlet Kit is optional and is sold separately.

Unit was shipped on time and received in good condition. As soon as plugged in, it warmed. I live in SE Georgia. I have a Liberty fat boy jr. The safe is in my office. I have 2 low cost hygrometers in the office showing about 70% (high for an A/C controlled atomosphere). The interior of the safe is 78 degrees F and humidiy is 58%. I may have to calibrate my hygrometers to determine accurate humidity.Simple and easy to wire in the included plug. Works great!Instructions not great and had some challenges getting it working, but overall, besides that, it works great and I would recommend.Product easy to setup and works well.The instructions say "not to use near explosives' but this is very strange since it is designed to be inside a gun safe where ammunition is also stored. It only increase temperature by a few degrees and does reduce humidity so I ignore that part of the instructions. You decide what to do for yourself.My first thought when I received the heater was,it seemed pretty cheap. Packaging was sufficient but seamed cheap. The instructions showed how to connect the plug to the wire. Mine was already connected. So I was suspicious of it being re packaged. The package states the heater should be mounted horizontally. Overall it works as advertised.Plugged it in and set it in the bottom of my safe, started heating up right away. Going to be a lot better than the moisture absorbing stuff I was using before. Two thumbs up Liberty SafeShould have had a round cord instead of a flat cord, but the device itself does the job. Also didn't like the cheap little plug that it came with.Good description of product and simple instructions to install. Everything necessary is in the box with handy electrical plug installation once the heater is installed inside the safe and wire is run thru a hole (I added a grommet for safety) outside to the wall receptacle.
