This is not at all like your typical home dehumidifiers, and it is working far better than I could have expected. I have three GE dehumidifiers running in a single large area, but they only last about 18 months, and they run 12 hours a day to keep the humidity down at 60%.I tried this on a whim rather than replacing the GE (again). In two hours it brought the area to 50% *by itself*, and only needs to run about for a couple bursts of a few minutes per hour to maintain. It will fill that entire tank twice in a day!The good:1. My goodness does this thing pull water - very powerful2. Subjective, but this thing just looks cool3. The larger bucket is very nice considering how fast this pulls water4. The size is not that much larger than the GE's, so it fits anywhere and moves easily5. It's about as loud as the GE on High, but it's just a smooth fan noise and not a rattling creaking like other units6. Normal US 15-Amp plug thanks goodness means it goes from shop area to office area with no problem7. Was packed so well that I kept the packaging material for re-use8. The pull tab and slide notches for the filter and bucket access are really nice so I can do both with gloved hands9. I had a small issue with a part, and the company was very helpful and responsiveThe bad:1. The unit flashes the display when it's operating normally, which is a little distracting and keeps making want to go check the bucket2. The fan is not adjustable - it's max fan or no fan (but in fairness, it runs much less often that way)3. The form and weight makes it awkward for one person to easily move up and down stairs (but with a buddy on the second handle, it's very easy)I'll be buying more of these for the other areas for sure.
