I first saw The Groovie Ghoulies when they opened at a Reverend Horton Heat concert. They started with an instrumental piece, and my good friend leaned over to me and joked, "Hey, I guess the guy that sings didn't show up." A few minutes later, when I heard Kepi start to sing in his nasally voice, I leaned back over to my friend and said, "Yeah. You must be right. The guy that sings didn't show up."It only took a couple of songs to realise, though, that his voice adds wonderful character to an already astounding band. Roach plays a mean guitar and, it should be noted, she's a cutie. Dan was their kick-ass drummer at the time, but the band has been through quite a few drummers since (and prior)...If you ever have an opportunity to see the band live, I strongly recommend it. They're always great fun. Especially on a Halloween. This album is among my favorites by the Ghoulies. "Pumpkinhead", and "My Car" are excellent works. "Hello Hello", "Beast with Five Hands", and "I Wanna Have Fun" are true punky romantic ballads...
