Standard for all my reviews: When reviewing products, I always remain objective and honest about the product or service. I always review with information that I feel others would like to know about the product as I always assume what I'm writing will influence for or against the purchase. I always try to go above and beyond surface characteristics and input into quality, value and application. Most importantly, I will always end the review with an answer as to whether I'd purchase the product again which I believe is the most critical question pertaining to the item. To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know!We have been storing our wine in boxes, standing up underneath the wet bar and anywhere else we could find room. We finally decided to up our wine storage game and purchased two different items. One was a wine credenza with a 28 bottle refrigerator. But we also needed additional storage just for our more economical everyday drinking wines.Somehow I thought it was going to be easy to just choose a wine rack, order it and be done. Quite a few options out there and I read a lot of reviews. In the end, what I found was that while there are a ton of options for storing wine, all experiences aren't the same. I was willing to spend a bit more for a good looking rack but didn't want to break the bank. At the same time, I didn't want a cheap and unstable product. I didn't know it at the time, but also wasn't wanting to invest multiple hours putting it together. After reading many tales of woe about poor instructions, pieces not lining up, splinters, shelves falling apart due to poor construction and overall frustration and putting the racks together. I had decided that I was going to prioritize stability and ease of construction. Of course, it had to fit my space as well.I have 34" from the ground to the counter in our utility room as you can see in the picture. One thing I really didn't take into consideration is not just the height of the rack itself but there needs to be some room for the wine that sits on the top rack. But the extra, nearly 4 inches, over the height of the rack worked almost perfectly. The rack is solid, well built and quite stable. Very little wobble and I fully expected some. I am very pleased with the stability. It's solid pine and not as rough as I was expecting. Those inclined could easily paint or stain it as well to match your need. We elected not to since it would just be more work and this is only in our utility room.Construction: This is the best part since I read so many frustration-laced reports of construction of various wine racks. When it showed up in a relatively small box I set it aside to put together later that day after work. When I got home, my wife had put it together, set it up and stacked some of our wine it. She said it was very easy even though the instructions were somewhat "comical". She's not particularly construction-inclined and had no problems with this rack. That says something. It's in, it looks great, functions exactly like we need for a wine rack and we couldn't be happier. May even purchase another one down the road as we need more space. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely buy it again. If you've got a perfect cool place to store wine...then this could be the beginning of a economical person's wine cellar. Wines do better stored on their sides so that the corks can do what they were designed to do...keep a barrier In place between your precious vintage for perhaps years to come. This will do just fine. Stack em and rack em....great start to managing a wine collection.Assembly went very well and it is very sturdy.Worth it to spend more. This product looks and feels cheapFirst off, the "paint" on the black version isn't even remotely color safe, it will stain your hands and everything else black. Wear gloves.Second, USE WOOD GLUE. It's absolutely necessary. It's stable-ish without, it's rock solid with.Fits my modest wine collection, does what I want it to do, looks good.We glued it and it is very sturdy. Sealed the wood to make it easier to clean in the future. Just did half for a low shelf and have second half to do.and super easy to put together. (but you will need a hammer to make sure the dowels are really all the way in).I wanted to store wine on shelves in my pantry and the modular nature of this wine rack worked perfectly. I split it into three sections, each with 6x2 spots for wine, which fit into my shelves. I changed the design a bit to put the curvy section on the bottom and the cross-pieces on the top -- still very stable and this gave me more room at the top for my wine bottles.
