This is one of those albums that deserves the highest rating allowed: it's an absolute gem. This 2-CD set (some of the songs are repeated on the second disc, but in even more "unplugged" forms) is simply an astonishing bunch of songs. Casal was a master songwriter, and one whose vocals captured the emotion and intensity of each and every song.Honestly, this is one of most impressive singer-songwriter albums I've heard during my 60-plus years on the planet. Casal had a masterful touch with pulling your heartstrings with both honest lyrics and memorable melodies. Nothing more I can add except: get this immediately! Such a sad loss, but with amazing albums like this, the spirit of Neal Casal will live forever.
