This dehumidifier works as designed, and appears to be well built. My reason for giving it 4 stars is because the built-in hygrometer readings are far from accurate and, if your were to believe the readings, they indicate that the dehumidifier is actually producing moisture (no, it wasn't in a defrost cycle). When compared with a calibrated hand-held hygrometer, the dehu's readings aren't even close. In addition to that, there is something wrong with their algorithm that calculates the Grains Per Pound (GPP). Using their Temp and Rh readings for input and output, and entering them into a psychrometric calculator, there is a vast difference in the GPP calculations. To summarize, it works at dehumidifying the air, but you have to use a hygrometer since you can't rely on it's readings.This thing is a beast. It came double boxed in heavy duty cardboard. Set up was easy and it really moves the air. I already notice the difference in my basement. Wifi connection was super simple to set up and it makes monitoring the unit easy. Includes a 14 foot drain hose which is great. Unit is heavy but it is on wheels so it is easy to move around. Very quiet. Simple to operate. No complaints!After about a month of using, this unit continues to perform well. Its quiet, the condensate pump works awesome and it moves a lot of air. Product support/customer service is also excellent. Its also cool how the display tells you the details (RH, Temperature, etc ) of the air coming into the machine vs the air going out. All in all, great product!This is my second AlorAir dehumidifier, I've had a larger crawlspace unit for about a year now. I got this one to supplement the large fixed unit in the crawlspace of a large 150 year old building with a granite foundation during spring when it's more wet and humid. Wifi setup was easy and now I can check on humidity levels in the app without going into the crawlspace. It has some handy features like location of the unit that might be great for painting and drywall crews. Cord is long and unit is relatively quiet and super portable with a sturdy locking handle. Filter is easy to access and built in pump means I don't have to empty it all the time. My only complaint is that the app makes me login every time I use it, hopefully they'll fix that.We use this unit in our basement that is very damp, especially after rains in July. Our old dehumidifier died last year and we have been researching replacements. Although much more expensive than what we replaced this unit is built very well. The wheels add another feature that makes them much easier to move around. We've always enjoyed the pumping feature of dehumidifier and this unit does not disappoint. I did need to contact Alorair as the unit was not automatically shutting off. The answered that the unit will automatically shut off when the humidity falls 3% lower than what you set the RH to. All in all very satisfied with the performance 3 weeks in.This unit is light weight compact and durable, I love it. It is easy to maneuver with a collapsible had dolly style . Easy to put inside a vehicle and retrieve it without breaking your back or needing two technicians perfect for in home or commercial use love the interface very easy to use And to read. The Filter is easy to access and to replace or clean as needed .The machine works better than the app. When the thing arrived it was a challenge to get the app to work and then when it did work it still had issues and I gave up on it. When I have more time to waste I’ll try again.The machine seems to work but needs more time to assess the results on the basement. It does seem to have remove the musty smell but it’s only run for 24 hours.I had no idea we had so much moisture in our air. This is a great product. Bought it to use in my puppy nursery and boarding facility. It does an awesome job., I hope it works for decades.Unit arrived undamaged and works exactly as described. Small easy to handle unit that’s easily moved through a house. I especially like the bright display panel that’s super easy to read because it’s nice and bright. Overall decent product that runs quiet.
